Make A Reservation
Reserving the Cormack Room is easy:
Request a Cormack Room Application from the Information Desk
Fill out the application and agree to the terms and conditions
Submit the application in-person at the library
Once submitted and approved, you must:
Pay the reservation fees in full
Cormack Room Hourly Rates are:
$26 for Downey Based Organizations
$52 for non-Downey Based Organizations

You don’t need a library card to reserve the room. Simply submit a reservation form and pay reservation fees when necessary.

Library staff will review applications and respond to requests between 1-7 business days

The amount of people that can be seated in the Cormack Room depends on the set up you want. Ask library staff for a list of potential table and chair set ups. Maximum standing capacity for the room is 130, with 80 seats available (including bleachers)

The library will issue a refund, minus 30% for processing, if a cancellation request is made forty-eight (48) hours prior to the reservation date

The Cormack Room follows the same rules as the rest of the library, so only drinks with lids are allowed.

The Cormack Room is available during normal business hours, Monday through Saturday. At the latest, the reservation has to end 15 minutes prior to the library closing

Like the rest of the library, commercial advertising along with charging, selling, donating, or any kind of transaction involving money are not allowed in the Cormack Room.

You can’t charge any fee or require special membership or restrict anyone from entering your event. All events at the Cormack Room have to be open to the public.
If you plan to have audio playing at your event, just remember that the walls of the room aren’t soundproof. Please respect other library users and keep all sound at a level that won’t disturb other visitors.

The Cormack Room can’t be used for anything that isn’t allowed by city, state, or federal law. You can submit your application for your event but the library director or designee has the final say on whether we can host the event.

There has to be at least one adult (+18) for every ten minors in the Cormack Room. Minors can’t be left alone
